The battle was part of the Seven year war of when the British tried to take over all of Canada. It was caused by the British Force, Led by James Wolfe were attacking Quebec for the land. The British force won the fight but both commanding officers died in the war. The French couldn't recapture Quebec and they lost control over New France.
