United states suprem court ordered new trials for the men, Stating inadequate counsel and poor representation.

New Trail begins

4/1933

New trial began, and inculded the tetsimoney of two doctors who reuted the likelihood that rape had accured, Ruby Bates' (one of the accusers) retraction of the accusation, and harsh scrutiny of the life of Victoria Price, the other accuser.

U.S Supreme Court overturned the convictions

1935

The U.S Supreme Court overturned the convictions stating that the defendants were not given a jury of their peers, in this case African Americans

Governor Graves interviews Scottsboro boys.

Paroled

Ozzie Powell is paroled.

Norris is returned to prison.

Escape

1948

Patterson escaped from prison and feld to Michigan were three years later he was convicted of manslaughter and died in prison
