French Revolution

July 14, 1789 - 1793

The French Revolution began between France and Britain. Some American's were on the French's side and others were on the British's side. This war ended when the revolutionaries beheaded Queen Marie-Antoinette.

General Wayne takes command

1792

George Washington gave his command of army to General Anthony Wayne so he can bring troops in to fight against the Indians.

The Neutrality Proclamation

April 22, 1793

George Washington ad his cabinet came up with a good idea to make things safer. Washington decided that people shouldn't be on either of the two sides, the French nor the British's side. Many people didn't agree with this idea but Washington believed that this would help make things safe.

Battle of Fallen Timbers

August 20, 1794

This was the battle in which the Native Americans fought against General Anthony Wayne's troops.

Jay's Treaty

November 1794

This treaty was signed by both the French and the British. The British agreed to pay for any damages made to the American ships and the Americans agreed to pay for any debts owed to the British.

Treaty of Greenville

August 1795

This was how the conflict ended.The Native Americans signed the Treaty of Greenville to give the United States some of the Indian Lands.

Pinckney's Treaty

October 1795

In this year the Pinckney's Treaty was accepted.
