A young Paul Hewson begins his education at The Inkwell, a Protestant Church of Ireland junior school.

Paul Hewson continues studying in St. Patrick's. He soon departed, being asked to leave, as he was unhappy there, and so were the teachers from his presence.

Bono volunteers at the Band Aid Charity Event along with Adam Clayton, in Ethiopia, after the 1984-85 famine. Soon after this, they collaborate with Bob Geldof for the first time among many collaborations. There, they created the single "Do They Know It's Christmas?/Feed The World" with different artists.
