Eastern Woodland Indians

800 bc - 800 ad

The Eastern Woodland Indians were Native Americans living in the northwestern states. They were estimated to live in Kentucky and Tennessee.

San Miguel de Gualdape

1526 - 1527

San Miguel de Gualdape was the first settlement inside of what now is the U.S. territory. The settlement was founded by Lucas Vazquez de Ayllon. Three months later the settlement was abandoned.

13 English Colonies

1607 - 1733

The Thirteen Colonies were founded on the Atlantic coast of North America. The colonies were Pennsylvania,Delaware,Georgia,New Jersey,Connecticut,Maryland,Massachusetts Bay,South Carolina,New Hampshire,Virginia,North Carolina,New York,Rhode Island and Providence Plantation's.


1637 - 1664

Mercantilism, the economic doctrine that the government control for foreign trade. The purpose was for ensuring military security.

Rice and Indigo Trade

1680 - 1730

Rice successfully grew in South Carolina in 1680, with the slave system rice was a major crop. When it ended in 1730 there were 20 million pounds.

Stono Rebellion

September 9,1739 - 1740

The Stono Rebellion was also known as Cato's Rebellion or Cato's Conspiracy. This rebellion was a slave rebellion that had the largest slave uprising in the British mainland colonies.

Triangle Slave Trade

1866 - 1872

The triangle trade was a system of trading slaves,cash crops, and manufactured. The trades went between West Africa,American or Caribbean colonies.
