they lived in the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys.

Rise and Indigo Trade

Rice was grown successfully in South Carolina as early as 1680.
Charleston made about 20 million pounds from 1698-1730.

Royal Colony

1712 - 1783

Crown took over the colony of North Carolina. King George II was the king then he died and his son King George III took over, lived until 1820 and watch as all his American Colonies evaporated and became the independent nation of the United States.

Stono Rebellion

1739 - 1740

slaves met in secret near the stono river in south Carolina to plan their escape to freedom.
they killed the owner of a firearm shop , in their act of rebelling.
