We had a set time multiple days a week to learn science. My teacher would just show us LaserDisks. As a 5th grader, this was extremely boring. We did a couple of fun activities, like using eggs to explain the layers of the earth and smashing cakes together for earthquakes. But I don't remember much from those LaserDisks, and I started dreading science time.
