In 1969- Through now, the internet is being used constantly everyday for anything, school, researching practically anything!! Imaging, videos, and web lol pretty much everything...

The internet was born!!!

The first message ever sent from one computer to another computer, which it said "Login" but, the system crashed and it ended up saying "lo" haha at least they got some where? Right?!

The internets slow growth...

1970

In 1970 Computers grew in numbers very slowly, very very slowly... Which the number was 4-13, Not much huh?

Computers grew again! Not much though..

1971

Numbers of the computers grew again, slowly, which means the internet was still slowly expanding. The numbers of computers increased to 23! Still not very much..

Computers growth jumped

1977 - 1984

Shot up to 100! Then it shot up to the thousand mark! Why slow growth? Mainly because computers were extremely large back in the 70's haha. (=

A.O.L.

1980

A.O.L. stand for (America Online) 10 percent of the people at that time with access of the internet were using this, A.O.L. First mainly started off selling video games online for 1$ not bad aye?

KABOOM! Computers haha (:

1987

10,000 mark man! Finally computers were just barely starting to get into people's homes! And the size of the computers were finally starting to shrink A LOT..

World Wide Web!

1989 - 1990

In 1989 a man named Tim Berners-Lee created what is called the World Wide Web, As you can see, also known as a web browser where they could find things on the internet, which I'm sure there wasn't much stuff on the internet at that time...

A.O.L. had massive growth

By this time a lot of the population had access to computers/internet, by now A.O.L. could do Games, Chat Program, Interaction Fiction, Play by e-mail, and much more..

You had to pay to use A.O.L.???!

1996

In 1996 AOL was made free to use, it was originally charging users an hourly fee for using it, that means someone got some big big money there...
