Beginning in the Fall of 2007, Decatur ISD began the process of identifying critical needs throughout the district. Technology was identified as one of these needs and was incorporated into a Bond package that was presented to the voters on May 10, 2008. The total Bond package was $27.9 million with $5.4 million designated for Technology improvements throughout Decatur ISD.

The Board is scheduled to vote on the purchase to Apple, Inc. for Laptops and services in the amount of $918,158.08. Additional items on the agenda include computers for the new Young Elementary and for elementary Gifted and Talented Program in the amount of $225,389.74. Total amount to be purchased: $1,143,547.82
