Battle of Bunker Hill

1775

British decided to move the Americans away from their strategic location overlooking the city. The Americans fired first forcing the British to retreat. The Americans ran out of gun power forcing them to retreat and causing the British to win.

Battle of Quebec

1775

The Americans wanted to capture the British city Quebec. The attack for the Americans failed and cost General Montgomery his life. First victory for the British.

Lexington and Concord War

1775

British soldiers were lead to capture John Hancock and Samuel Adams. Paul Revere was sent to warn the Americans that the British was coming so that the Americans could be ready for action. At Lexington the British killed many Americans in the first outburst. The second outburst was lead when the British soldiers (unarmed) ran into a group of Americans who were then killed. Americans won.

Second Continental Congress

1775

Many members of this Congress weren't prepared to be removed from Great Britain. This congress included many some of the most greatest political leaders in America. Began to govern the Colonies. Created the Continental army.

British Evacuation of Boston

1776

The British were blocked off from Boston and from all their supplies due to the Americans. Henry Knox arrived in January dragging 50 cannons to fire at the British. when the British general, Howe, saw that the cannons were amid at him he fled with his troops causing the Americans to win.

Declaration of Independence

1776

has four major sections. First one states that people who wish to form a new country need a reason for doing so. The next two sections states the right of the colonist complains against Britain. The last one sates the existence of a new nation.

Battle of Princeton

1777

George Washington lead his troops across the Delaware River and lunched a surprise attack on the British by going around their camp. Americans won killing hundreds of British soldiers.

Spain declares war on Britain

1779

Spain joins the alliance with the Americans against the British after refusing to recognize Americas independence.

Battle of Camden

1780

The British troops rerouted the Americans and into the Battle at South Carolina. British gained The Carolinas and lead in victory.

Battle of Yorktown

1781

The Americans and British, for three weeks would bombard each other with cannons until finally the British surrendered causing the Americans to win.
