Louis Comfort Tiffany s father was a businessman. He was very agreeable with Louis, who wanted to become an artist. He had not wanted to be what his father had been, and knew how hard it could be. Louis studied painting first, then glass. He was always experimenting and trying new ways to do things. Today he is most famous for his Tiffany lamps, bright colorful designs out of glass on the shades, but in fact his lamps were only another experiment. He owned a shop on Broadway Street and sold his art through it. One of his best pieces was a house he decorated. In the house is a tall hallway with the staircase hanging in midair coming down on both sides to form a V . The railings are decorated with precious stones, and the rails cut out to hold them just so. Louis Comfort Tiffany was always trying new things, and manage things Beyond his time, like his flying staircase.
