Trojan War

1250 BC - 1248 BC

The Trojan war was between the Greeks and the people of Troy. The cause of this war was, each God/ruler wanted Queen Helen as their spouse. The Greeks won! The Trojan lasted for 10 years and cost many lives, but also produced many heroes. Leaders such as; Agamemnon, Menelaus, Achilles, Nestor, Odysseus, and Diomedes.

Sparta conquest of Messian Civilization

743 BC - 668 BC

There were two Messian wars. The long drawn battle was for the Spartans to win, they already had an established military. The Messians would eventually become secondary to the Spartans and classed as Helots, used for farming and producing crops for the state of Sparta.

1st Persian war (Darius) Battle of Marathon

494 BC - 490 BC

At their beginning The Persian Empire of Darius included all of west Asia as well a Egypt. The Athenians won the first war.

2nd Persian War (Xerxes) Battles of Thermopylae, Salamis, Plataea,

480 BC - 479 BC

Darius died before the 2nd Persian war so his son Xerxes was left to lead to 2nd Persian war. Greece also won the 2nd Persian War!

Peloponessian war (2nd)

431 BC - 404 BC

Athens vs. Sparta. The more immediate reason for the war was, Athenian control of the Delian League. Greece also wont the Peloponessian War(s), the 1st & 2nd

Alexander the Great- conquest of Egypt/Persia

336 BC - 323 BC

Alexander the Great won all of his battles. The wars of Alexander the Great were fought by King Alexander the 3rd of Macedon.
