History of my Education

This is a timeline of the history of my education, displaying my interests in both technology and educating children.


Attended Atlantic High School

August 1999 - May 2003

I graduated from high school with a high school diploma with honors as well as multiple college technology courses completed before entering community college.

Joined the Yearbook Staff at Atlantic High School

August 2000 - May 2003

I was on the yearbook staff through most of high school and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Being on this team truly helped shape my interest in the technology field.

Attended Advanced Technology Center

August 2001 - May 2003

In high school, I attended ATC, where I was able to take college-level computer-based courses while still in high school.

Associate of Arts degree at Daytona Beach Community College

August 2003 - May 2005

I received my AA at DBCC in Human Services. At this point, I began to drift away from my thoughts of pursuing a career in technology.

Bachelor of Arts Degree at Florida State University

August 2005 - December 2007

I received my bachelor's degree at FSU in psychology with a minor in child development. My intentions were to continue my education in clinical psychology. Although, I decided to take some time off from school because soon after I graduated from FSU, my daughter was born.
In the mean time, I was working as a teacher at a child-development center called Downtown Babies and Kids.

Worked as a teacher at Downtown Babies and Kids

May 2006 - August 2013

I worked at a child-development center, where my daughter ended up going with me. I was then promoted to lead teacher in the infant room and became more passionate about the idea of becoming a teacher.

My daughter, Willa, was born

September 9, 2008

After Willa was born, I decided to take some time off from school so that I would have more time to focus on raising my daughter. I was able to bring her to work with me work at Downtown Babies. After working with kids for so many years, I decided that I didn't want to pursue psychology anymore.

Attended Daytona State College for Educator Preparation Institute

August 2015 - December 2017

After moving back to Port Orange, I decided to go back to school for my teaching certificate in elementary education. I attended DSC in the EPI program.

Passed my FTCE K-6 Subject Area Exam

August 2015

Passing this exam was extremely important to me, because it allowed for me to apply for a temporary teaching certificate, as well as be admitted to the Daytona State College Educator Preparation Institute.

Master of Arts Degree in Education Technology at University of Central Florida

August 2017 - Present

After dipping my feet into the classroom, I decided to go back to my interests in technology, like I had back in high school. With combining two of my passions, education and technology, I think that this is the perfect degree track for me.
