The janssen's were known for the first people to create the microscope and the telescope

found out about cells while looking in a cork

discovered the cell

named them after a monks living space

Anton van leeuwenhoek

1674 - 1683

Ended up making his own microscope

first to see and describe a cell

Theodor schwann

1837 - 1839

Found out everything had cells

started the cell theory

Matthias Schleiden

found out all plants had cells in them
found out the importance of a lot of the parts in a cell

Rudolph Virchow

1855

suggested that all cells come from preexisting cells

stated not all plants are made up of cells
