X-Men Legacy Vol. 2 was part of the Marvel NOW! relaunch event. The predecessor title, of X-Men: Legacy vol. 1,ended with issue #275. The X-Men: Legacy title was relaunched as a new series with a new issue #1, written by Simon Spurrier and penciled by Tan Eng Huat. This new Legacy series centered around Legion, the son of Professor Charles Xavier. In this sense, the term “Legacy” refers to Legion being the legacy of his late father, Professor X.
The last issue (#25), was renumbered to #300 to reflect the number of issues in this series going back to X-Men #1 (1991).
