Louie was driven to Tokyo, Japan and was given a prompt of an American radio broadcast announcing his death, and made a speech announcing that he was alive on Radio Tokyo.

To the rescue!

one-hundred eleven B-29s had arrived in Tokyo the rescue the prisoners in POW camps.

Little Boy

August 6, 1945

Little Boy the atomic bomb was on a US plane, but it accidentally slips into Hiroshima, Japan.

The war was over.


August 26, 1945

The POW's took some paint and painted two giant words, "FOOD" and the other one "SMOKES".

We surrender

September 2, 1945

Japan signed its formal surrender.


September 5, 1945

Louie and other POW's escape by walking over to an official and asking if they could have a train arranged for the next day.
