Hamilton marries Elizabeth Schuyler.

December 14, 1780

Hamilton is elected to congress as a representative from New York.

1782

Hamilton serves in the Constitutional Congress and Constitutional Convention.

1784

Hamilton Writes 51 of the 85 essays published in the Federal Papers.

1788

Hamilton is appointed the first United States Secretary of the Treasury.

1789

Hamilton created the first National Bank of the United States.

1791

Hamilton establishes a newspaper called the New York Evening Post with the help of editor William Coleman.

1801

Hamilton died
