Muller V. Oregon

February 24, 1908

-Muller was convicted for violating the law of working over 10 hours a day
-With a 9-0 vote, justices kept the Oregon law as it was with a maximum 10 hour work day
-Tried to prove that the law was right for women to protect their health

Sinking of the Titanic

April 14, 1912

the titanic ship hit an iceberg andsank in the atlantic ocean and killed 1,517 people. a five hour movie is based off this tragic event.

Suffrage Parade in Washington D.C.

-This parade was organized by Alice Paul
-Thousand of suffragists marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C.
-This took place Monday March 3, 1913

-The United States entered the alliance of Britain, France, and Russia to fight
-ended November 11, 1918
- Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism were the causes of the war

Fourteen Points

January 8, 1918

-The main purpose of the Fourteen Points was to outline a strategy for ending the war. President Wilson set out specific goals that he wanted to achieve through the war.
-President Wilson became the only leader of the countries fighting in the war to publicly outline his war goals.
-The promise of the Fourteen Points helped to bring the Germans to peace talks at the end of the war.
