A program, MacHack, is written by Richard Greenblatt, it plays chess.

The mechanical engineering student, Victor Scheinman, creates the 'Stanford Arm,' this has now become the standard robotic arm.

Victor Scheinman created a company, that sold the 'Silver Arm,' which uses touch sensors to assemeble small parts.

Voyagers 1 and 2 launch from the Kennedy Space Flight Centre.

NASA launches MER-A "Spirit" and MER-B "Opportunity," both which are heading for Mars.
