Fredrick Griffith- Discovered there was a transforming principle in the bacteria strains.

Phoebus Levene- Made a Model of DNA as a square structure

1930

Oswald Avery (MacLeod and McCarty)- Showed DNA was the transforming principle

1944

Erwin Chargaff -  Discovered that amount of sugars in nucleotides were the same within species but different among other species.

Linus Pauling-He tried to draw a picture of DNA but as a Triple heklix design

1951

Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase- They proved DNA and not proteins is the genetic material.

1952

Rosaling Franklin-Discovered the X-ray diffraction pattern of DNA.

James Watson and Francis Crick - Discovered the structure and functions of DNA.

Maurice Wilkins- Worked with Franklin to discover the X-ray diffraction pattern of DNA.
