Josephine is the patron saint of the Eastern African Country of Sudan, Trafficked Persons, and Victims of Slavery. She is known for things because of her past as a young child. Living in Sudan was a struggle; being born as a slave and always learning quickly on how to keep herself from danger. She was always helpless, but it allowed her to learn and do good things. Being the patron saint of trafficked persons allows her to watch over, and help those who need any sort of assistance when it comes to people. Lastly, she experiencing slavery allows her to become even more close and have a special bond with the people who were bought, sold. Just because she was called the "lucky one" by her slave owners, doesn't make her any less different from those who wanted nothing but to be free, but still had hope. Her goodness has changed things for the better.
