John writes his Gospel for everyone because, during his time, the Christian community was arguing. John focus is on the divine aspect of Jesus. John talks about the Mystery of the Incarnation, Jesus voicing the Word of God, and talks about Jesus being the 2nd person in the Trinity. John stated the Jesus’ miracles meant that he was the Son of God. For example, John states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:1-5). John immediately states Jesus’ divinity, by portraying him as a light, the light of men. John does this so that the Christian community can find what they started their beliefs on, the Jesus is the Son of God, and hopefully, stop their arguing.
