In 1895 Puffing Billy started to carry. Puffing Billy carried were, fruit, veg, timber and plants.
Even though the service was popular, the Gembrook line lost $26,ooo in one year. This was the worst performing line in the whole Victorian Railway network.
Tecoma didn't have a station until 1924. On December the 1st, a lot of people came to see Puffing Billy at the station in Tecoma.
The railway celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
A landslide blocked the track and, because of operating losses, the line was closed the following year.
