the first game was played at Madame Stenberg’s College in England, except the game was different because there weren’t no standard rules during the time.

Women’s International Federation established Netball

January 1st 1960

Representatives from England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies met and decided on a four year championships as well as the rules.

First Netball World Championship Tournament

May 11th 1963

The tournament was held in Eastbourne England.

AMMNA (Australians Men and Mixed Netball Association) was formed

Netball becomes a recognised sport

February 1st 1995

after being recognised that allows netball to be considered for future games.

First World Youth Netball Championship

May 11th 1998

the championship was held in Canberra, Australia. The tournament is for people under the age of 21 and it was so successful that they decided to do it every 4 years.

Netball gets included into the Commonwealth Games

June 20th 1998

the first time for netball in the commonwealth games which was held in Kuala Lumpur, helped it make it a more popular sport

shorter, sharper version of the netball game, then in 2013 this evolved into Fast5
