Hong Xiuquan, a faithful Christian who believed he was the brother of Jesus Christ, led the revolutonary group "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom" to revolt against Qing China. However, the victory of the war was to the Qing Empire, resulting to the end of the "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom." Furthermore, belief in Christianity remained weakened all throughout China.

Commodore Matthew Perry of the U.S. Navy, enters Edo Bay, and despite the Japanese request to leave or to dock at Nagasaki, the Japanese port available to outsiders, Perry marches toward the capital of Japan, Edo city. Perry threatened the Japanese, telling them that they need to open ports for American's, set up an American consul in Japan and set up safety for American castaways. Perry also told the Japanese that in case they chose to fight the American's would destroy them. He assured them he would come back the following year for a response and set sail for Hong Kong.

Tensions between China and the west were high in the mid 1850s. Specifically between the British and China. The demands they made after the first Opium war were massive and it angered the Chinese. On October 8, 1856 Chinese officials took 12 Chinese prisoners from the British ship the "Arrow" and refused return them. This started a second opium war involving other major powers like the French Russian and American. The war was for the West to install heavy influence in China.

The eruption of the Krakatoa Volcano in Indonesia led to 30m tsunami in the Sunda Strait which killed 36,000 people. Furthermore it also washed away 165 coastal villages.

The first Sino-Japanese War was fought between the Qing Empire and the Empire of Japan. The premises of the war was for an influence of Korea. The war lasted for a little over 8 and a half months with Chinese suing for peace on the February of 1. The defeat of the Chinese proved that the Qing Empire failed to modernize its military while the Japanese through the Meiji restoration did.

The war was between the Philippines and the Spanish for the independence of the Philippine people. The revolution was started by Andres Bonifacio, the leader of an anti-colonial secret organization. On May 19, 1898, the Philippine revolutionaries allied with the U.S which led to the Spanish defeat. The Spanish signed the Treaty of Paris of 1898 which gave control of the Philippines to the U.Ss, ending the Spanish rule.

A rebellion that was in motion towards the end of the Qing Dynasty by the "Yihetuan" or in english "Boxers." This group was very nationalist and opposed Western colonialism and Christianity. The "Boxers" wanted to destroy the Qing Dynasty. The rebellion was extreamly bloody and caused a lot of Western interference. However the rebellion led to the weakening of the Qing Empire foretelling change to come.

Japan started this war by surprise, attacking Russian ships in Port Arthur. However, Russia was not afraid to take this battle. Japan started the war as it feared Russia had plans to have spheres of influence on Korea. japan continuously beat Russia in war but the Tsar of Russia and the West believed that Russia wouldn't lose to Japan. So when Japan completely beat Russia it took the entire world by surprise.

On the August of 1910, Japan signed a treaty with Korea to annex it. This began the period of Japanese rule in Korea. The British recognized this and accepted it as the British and Imperial Japan had formed an alliance on 1902. This annexation would later dissove on August 15, 1945.

The Nanjing massacre was a six-week massacre of the Chinese people from the city Nanjing by the Japanese. There was an estimated 40,000 to 300,000 dead. In addition, there was widespread looting and rape all throughout the city. The women being raped were mostly killed as well, usually in inhumane ways. This event was so ashamed that some Japanese deny that the Nanjing massacre even occurred.

During the August of 1945, by the order of U.S. President Harry S. Trueman, the U.S. dropped the nuclear warheads "Little Boy" on Hiroshima and "Fat Man" on Nagasaki. These Weapons Of Mass Destruction killed roughly a total of 129,000 to 226,000 people. This prompted Japan to surrender to the allied forces effectively ending World War 2.
