Jesus ascended in to heaven body and soul 40 days after his Resurrection.

Edict of Milan

The Edict of Milan was a proclamation that allowed Christianity to continue in the Roman Empire.

The Great Schism

The Schism was a break in our church. Now there is the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Church.

This was when the Protestant Reformation occurred. It was lead by Martin Luther

1978 - 2005

This was the time frame for when Pope John Paul II was pope. He was the 264th pope. He was the co-patron of Word Youth Day.

This was when Pope Francis was elected Pope and still is to this current day.

St. Jerome's life

331 AD - 420 AD

St. Francis is a Doctor of the Church. He is the patron saint of Librarians and his feast day is September 30.

St. Brigid of Kildare's life

450 AD - 525 AD

This is the when Brigid lived. She is the patron saint of milkmaids, mothers, our school, our church and babies.

Saint Thomas Aquinas life

1225 AD - 1274 AD

This is the time when Thomas Aquinas lived. He is the patron saint of all educational establishments.

St. Francis de Sales life

August 21, 1567 - December 28, 1622

St. Francis is a Doctor of the Church. He is the patron of Catholic writers. the Catholic press, the deaf, journalists and adult education.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha's life

1656 - April 17, 1680

This is the time from when this American saint lived. She was born in New York and died in Canada. She was beatified June 22, 1980.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton's life

August 28, 1774 - January 4, 1821

This was the time from from when Elizabeth lived. She is an american saint and the patron saint of in-law problems, against the death of children, widows, death of parents and opposition of Church authorities.

St. Gianna Beretta Molla Life

October 4 1922 - April 28 1962

This is the time frame from when Gianna lived. She is the patron saint of mothers, physicians, and unborn children. She also is my Confirmation saint I chose.

St. Gianna Beretta Molla Beatification Date

April 24 1994

This was the date Gianna was beatified in the Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II.

St. Gianna Beretta Molla Cannonization Date

May 16 2004

This was the date Gianna was canonized. Her feast day is April 28.

Church Councils

Council of Nicaea

325 AD

This is the year where the Council of Nicaea met. They met in Nicaea. It was the first council of the church.

Council of Constantinople

381 AD

This is when the Council of Constantinople met. They were called together in Constantinople by the Roman Emperor Theodosius I. Their major topics were about the Nicene Creed.

Council of Ephesus

431 AD

This is when the Council of Ephesus met. They met in Ephesus and were called together by Roman Emperor Theodosius II.

Council of Chalcedon

451 AD

This is when the Council of Chalcedon met. It was the fourth ecumenical council and held in Chalcedon.

Council of Trent

1545 AD - 1563 AD

This was the time span for when the Council of Trent met. This was a session with 30 bishops and it took 18 years to complete this.

First Vatican Council

1869 AD - 1870 AD

This is when the First Vatican Council met. This First Vatican Council strengthened the authority of the Pope. It also spurred a great internal spiritual renewal of the church and made Catholicism a strong world force to be reckoned with.

Second Vatican Council

1962 AD - 1965 AD

This is when the Second Vatican Council met. The purpose of this council was to update the church's response to what was currently happening in the world. The Bishops called on the Church to advance the dignity of human beings.
