I will watch a Power Point by Ms. Lauvilli based on personal project and in class come up with an effective personal project topic, a SMART goal I want to achieve by the exhibition and which global context it will relate to.
I will then investigate how my business plan will relate to my subject link and relevant research sources in which I can use to assist in the creation of my business plan. I will then determine the authenticity, relevance and reliability of each source by documenting the author or publisher, when the source was written/stated/printed//recorded, where it was published, what the source said, how relevant the source was and why the source was relevant for my particular project. I will also look at what I already know and use samples and templates to find out what I need to know.
I will start a small scale business to determine whether or not my business will be able to work. I will do this by selling one of my products with the ISN school community. I will put up posters to advertise for chocolate-chip Oreo cookies and put a notice in the school newsletter where most parents frequently access. I will then take pre-orders on Friday the 24th of March and deliver them on Monday the 27th of March. This will allow me to calculate the price of raw materials required, understand the approximate labor hours needed to make a batch, calculate the profit from what I made and predict the amount of customers keen on buying my products. For all the students that bought my cookies, I will then ask for feedback based on whether or not they would buy the product again, what they would improve with the product and whether they would recommend my product to their friends. This way I will be able to effectively understand whether they will be considered suitable targeted customers
I will analyse the success of my small scale business in the form of a paragraph. I will discuss the challenges faced, the profit made and learning experiences I want to take back and use in my business plan.
I will need to create the survey and interview questions for real estate agents, tourists, students, residents, competing restaurants, hotel/restaurant equipment stores, students and Investment Fiji
I will conduct interviews on all sources. I will go to popular tourist destinations including Denerau, Naisoso and Wailoaloa. I will hand out questionnaires to residents from different parts of Nadi and personally talk to similar businesses to find out what their promotion and marketing strategies include and approximately how many customers they bring in every year. I will then talk to real estate agents to find out the most affordable location for rent.
In the first stage of my business plan I will finish the executive summary, the objectives of my business, mission, keys to success and company summary.
