Confederacy is formed

February 4, 1861

The Confederacy formed when six seceded states met in Montgomery and declared them the Confederate States of America. The president of the Confederate states was Jefferson, Davis.

Firing Fort Sumter

April 12, 1861

Fort Sumter was the first war of the American Civil War and also the Confederate States won the battle at Fort Sumter.

The Battle of the Bull Run was the first major land battle fought in Virginia. The Confederate States defeated the Union.
