Napoleon married Josehine de Beauharnais in 1796. She was 6 years older than him and already had 2 teenagers when they got married.
During those years Josephine was unable to give Napoleon an offspring, so they had their marriage annulled
After making a constitutional amendment in 1802, making Napoleon first consul for life. Two years later, in 1804, he crowned himself emperor of France in a ceremony in Paris at the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
Marie Louise was the daughter of the Austrian Emperor. They were married 11 years, sinsce 1810, until the day Napoleon died in St Helena
Marie Louise gave birth to Napoleon's heir and only legitimate child on March 20 1811: Napoleon François Joseph Charles Bonaparte, known as Napoleon II.
He was given the title of King of Rome
He died at the age of 51 during his exile in St Helena from a stomach cancer.
