A remotely controlled ship with a person inside ( Yuri ) the first person to ever be in space. He was in space for 108 minutes.

Freedom 7

May 5, 1961

First U.S.A citizen to go to space, his name was Alan Shepard. In space for around 15 minutes. In a controlled ship. Objective was to put an astronaut around earths orbit and return safely.

Mariner 4

First mission to fly by mars.

Helped learn how astronauts can go outside in a space suit. Walking in space and space walks.

First successful moon landing! People walked on the surface of the moon.
