Zachanas became well known because he created the first microscope.

The invention of the miscroscope

Dr. Jansen and his father created the first microscope. After that more versions of the microscope were created.

Robert Hooke

1660

He found the cell by looking at a cork under a microscope. He worked with Anton Van Leewunhoek.

Anton Van Leewenhoek

1674

He made another version of the microscope. Anton worked with Robert Hooke. Later Robert Hooke looked at cork and found the cell.

Matthias Schleiden

1838

He found plant cells.

Theodor Schwann

1839

He concluded that animal cells are made up of cells.

Rudolf Virchow

1855

He found out that cells come from already existing cells.
