Kim Il-Sung begins the Korean War

Kim Il-sung is backed by the communists. He also made Pyongyang the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and claims jurisdiction over all of Korea.

North Korea was considered to be a successful state

North Korea during this period was said to be successful under Kim Il-sung, better than South Korea. Kim Il-Sung remodeled society in North Korea based on the lines of Juche. "the lines of Juche—North Korea’s radically nationalistic ideology promoting Korean autonomy." The Government took everything from the people and took control of all media and restricted international travel. The Song-bun system is "The entire population is sorted into different social classes according to one’s perceived loyalty to socialism and the regime."

Kim Jung-Un becomes Leader
Kim Jung-Un takes power around 27-28 years old. The few people that escaped North Korea when Kim Jung-Un was becoming the leader they said he hadn't made hardly any effort towards propaganda and the citizens of North Korea knew as much as the outside world had about Kim Jung-Un (Almost nothing). Kim Jung-Un focused the first year of his rule on Public Relations (PR).

Sony Made a Comedy making fun of Kim Jong-un, and "the guardians of peace", believed to be north Korea but never confirmed, responded by hacking Sony. The "guardians of peace" sent threats to the executives of Sony, and released some of Sony's important information.
