This is the History of Roseheim
The First Empire or First Era.
Starts with the rule of Praxis Durrox the First and ends with Pelagius Trios the Third.
This era spans the 216 year period between the First Era and the Second Era (First and Second Empires respectively.) Beginning with the downfall of House Trios following the death of Kaiser Pelagius III, and ending with the Ascension of Kaiser Maximillian I and the beginning of the Vaugn Dynasty
The Second Empire or Second Era
Starts with the rule of Maximillian Vaughn the First and ends with Cassander Flavia the Second.
During this period the Republic of Roseheim was at the forefront of Politics following the collapse of the Second Empire and end of the Second Age. Some Historians call this the InterImperial Era though many have taken to calling it the Republican Era.
Starts with the Rule of Arcadian Lyrias the First, Ends with the Rule of Delphine Lyrias the First.
This Interregnum was brought about by the Brothers Lepidus and Cephorus, the two sons of the Kaiserin Delphine the First. Upon her assassination the brothers each bid for the throne though Lepidus was the rightful occupant. During the twelve year Civil War that ensued neither was crowned officially. During this period the Noble House Trost, which had ruled as the Sovereigns of the Kingdom of Lumina centuries earlier, before its peaceful annexation into the Republic, made its bid for the Imperial Throne denouncing the two brothers as Enemies of the State. With the Imperial Senate behind them, House Trost was able to best the armies of Lepidus one he had dealt with Cephorus. In 1924 Cephorus died, and Lepidus bent the knee to House Trost signaling his recognition of their rise to the Imperial Throne and his fall from grace. Lepidus died quietly in the Priesthood of Iskander.
The Fourth Era or Empire was founded when House Trost ascended to the throne in 1924 ending the Second Interregnum.
The founding of Roseheim. This event is deeply shrouded in myth and legend though many believe that the Goddess Freya spoke to Praxis Durrox who united the warring City States and founded the First Empire of Roseheim under his absolute and unwavering rule.
Following the Assassination of Pelagius III and his Heirs the First Empire collapsed and fell into the First Interregnum.
With the ascension of Maximillian the First to the throne of the Kingdom of Avenheim signals the end of the Interregnum as he married the heiress to the Kingdom of Visin, and together they conquered the Palatinate. Proclaiming the Second Empire.
This year saw the End of the Atronid Dynasty with the assassination of Cassander the First and the rise of five pretenders to the throne all killing one another in a large Civil War that lasted the duration of the year. Finally Pelagius the Fifth was able to secure the throne.
Following the death of Cassander II and his heirs the Second Empire collapsed. The Republic of Roseheim was born from those ashes under Consul Marius Colovian.
Arcadian Lyrias the Ninth Consul in his effort to streamline the war effort proclaimed the formation of the Third Empire thus ending the Republic.
Assassination of Kaiserin Delphine the First leads to the Second Interregnum.
House Trost succeffully defeated Lepidus the First following his victory over his brother Cephorus the First. House Trost instead of continuing the Third Empire, proclaimed the Fourth Empire, which still stands.
This event marks the abandonment of the Homeworld by Roseheim's government, essential personnel and many thousands of refugees on an Exodus Ark to a new home. Only five-hundred thousand made the journey and many Trosts ruled during that time. It was an event that would forever shape the Imperial House and the nation.
First Kaiser of Roseheim. United the Warring Cities and formed the First Empire of Roseheim. His rule was dominated by constant political intrigue, wars and finally his assassination and the failure of his successors to maintain dominance as he had.
Second Kaiser of Roseheim
Little improvement was made as Calixtus had a “thing” for little boys and girls and routinely “deflowered” them with little caution. Soon his craving grew too intense for the Aristocracy to bear as he demanded the eldest son of a Noblemen be “deflowered” by him. The boy, only of the age of thirteen rammed a blade through Calixtus before he could commit the deed in the privacy of his chambers.
Just four years into his reign he fell and suffered an injury that left him lame. Upon his death years later he earned the name Miraxes the Lame, though if he had not been of House Durrox he likely would have achieved the nickname “The Great” for the blissful rule and prosperity the Empire had beneath him. The nobility not desiring another tyrant or even the chance for such moved to secure a new House to rule. Thus the Imperial Torch passed to House Ebenhardt.

Upon the assassination of Cassander the Second and his heirs, the Second Empire entered the Republican Era with the downfall of the Second Empire. During this era many things happened.
First Consul of Roseheim
Marius Colovian created the Republic of Rosehim following the collapse of the Second Empire. The Empire had fractured into fourteen nations and the Republic of Roseheim was the strongest but not the largest. The rule of Consul Marius Colovian was spent ensuring a surplus budget and securing the borders.
Second Consul of Roseheim.
Succeeding Marius, Lucius Varro gained the Consulship through his merit. He had spent the duration of his predecessor's reign as a Legate of the Republican Army securing the borders and managing the military's affairs.
Third Consul of Roseheim
Was assassinated by agents of the Donheim Kingdom, one of the fourteen splinter states that were formed following the Second Empire's Collapse. His death marked an Era of War for Roseheim.
Fourth Kaiser of Roseheim
Succeeding Consul Maxientius Cornelia to the Pinnacle of Roseheim's Political Power, Titus Numero declared war on the Kingdom of Donheim, who was responsible for his predecessor's death. This war would last into his successor's rule as, Consul Titus Numero was killed on the field of battle against Donheimer Forces.
Fifth Consul of Roseheim
Continuing the war with The Kingdom of Donheim, Consul Seneca Vespasianus was able to avenge his predecessor's death in battle against Donheim, when he sacked and razed their capital city effectively ending the war in 1619, though the war would not officially end in peace until 1623, at which point Donheim was annexed by Roseheim.
Sixth Consul of Roseheim
The Rule of Consul Gaius Lorien was one of immense prosperity and peace in Roseheim as the small nations of Trinity, Calron, and Tythis joined the Republic of Roseheim willingly. This brought the number of Successor States down to Ten with Roseheim being the second largest but most prosperous. Only rivaled by the Kingdom of Night.
Seventh Consul of Roseheim.
Like his predecessor, Consul Primus Audens oversaw the peaceful expansion of the Republic of Roseheim by the annexation of Myriad, Kintaris, Lumina, and Aurelia bringing the number of Successor states down more to Six now with Roseheim as the largest, most prosperous and populous Successor State to the Second Empire. The High Kingdom of Night and the other four states formed the Corona Pact to secure their nations and interests against that of Roseheim while avoiding direct confrontation.
Eighth Consul of Roseheim
Following two decades of a Cold War with the Corona Pact Nations, Roseheim suffered a massive military invasion by the Pact Nations who were attempting to stem the tide of growing Pro-Roseheim Sentiment among their populations, who were wishing to join Roseheim and the prosperity they enjoyed. This war dominated the rule of Valens Jovius, who while competent and capable was killed in the Siege of Avenheim the Capital of Roseheim.
Ninth Consul, Fifty Third Kaiser of Roseheim.
Fighting the war against the Pact grew increasingly desperate for Arcadian Lyrias, the Bureaucracy grew increasingly difficult to navigate as he was fighting in the battles and engagements. It was in 1706 that he proclaimed the end of the Republic and the Rise of the Third Empire (and thus the Third Era) which was met with a renewed vigor from his Legions allowing him to push the Invading Pact nations out of Roseheim and sign a the Peace of Six in 1710. The remainder of his reign was spent securing against any further wars from the Pact and rebuilding all that had been lost in the war.
Eleventh Kaiserin, Fifty Fourth Imperial Ruler of Roseheim
Twelfth Kaiserin and Fifty Fifth Imperial Ruler of Roseheim
Fifty Sixth Kaiser of Roseheim.
Assassinated by unknown agents, though it is widely considered the High Kingdom of Night sent them as Draco the First was know to be preparing for war against them.
Fifty Seventh Kaiser of Roseheim
Assassinated by agents of the Order of Lunaria, the Moon Goddess as they believed him to be an ardent supporter of Solaris, the Sun God. It turned out he worshiped Lunaria and thus those in the Order purged themselves of those responsible for his murder.
Fifty Eighth Kaiser of Roseheim
Co-Kaiser with his twin brother Praxis the Tenth as their father Antiochus wished for the pair to rule together. Neither had direct heirs so their cousin Pelagius would succeed them as when Uriel the Ninth died from a fever, Praxis committed suicide. It is widely accepted though no evidence says so, that the twins were lovers.
Fifty Ninth Kaiser of Roseheim
Co-Kaiser with his twin brother Uriel the Ninth as their father Antiochus wished for the pair to rule together. Neither had direct heirs so their cousin Praxis would succeed them as when Uriel IX died from a fever, Praxis committed suicide. It is widely accepted though no evidence says so, that the twins were lovers.

Following her assassination the Third Empire collapsed as her two eldest sons, Lepidus the First and Cephorus the Second. This infighting was the period known as the Second Interregnum. Neither Lepidus or Cephorus ruled in the end as House Trost emerged in the war from the shadows and seized the throne as Cephorus was engaged with Marcus.
Sixteenth Kaiserin, Sixty Sixth Kaiser of Roseheim.
Ascended after leading House Trost to secure the throne during the Second Interregnum. Her reign was rather brief as most of her prime was spent in the Interregnum Wars. Aftwards Hildegarde the First was clearly suffering from the side effects of the stress she had undergone. She died peacefully in the countryside and was succeeded by her Son Wilhelm.
Sixty Seventh Kaiser of Roseheim
Sixty Eighth Kaiser of Roseheim
Seventeenth Kaiserin, Sixty Ninth Imperial Ruler of Roseheim.
Eighteenth Kaiserin, Seventieth Imperial Ruler of Roseheim
Hildegarde the Second led the Fourth Empire in it's successful conquest of the High Kingdom of Night when she was just thirty one and in her fourteenth year upon the throne. The High Kingdom of Night put up stiff resistance but with the solid military foundations of the Fourth Empire she was able to overcome that resistance and finally incorporate the High Kingdom back into Roseheim which hadn't been done since the Second Empire's collapse.
Over the course of her Reign the Fourth Empire entered a Golden Age under her careful and meticulous rule. The Kaiserin suffered a blow to her emotional state when her son and heir, along with his wife were killed in a car crash. She moved quickly and nominated her infant grandson as her heir and fortunately he survived and would go on to succeed her when she abdicated at the age of Ninety Four. She passed away peacefully eight years later at the age of One Hundred and Two, in the year 2101.

House Durrox starts off as nothing more than blacksmiths in the City of Avenheim, the City State at the forefront of Hyphesion Politics and Power. House Durrox gained noteworthiness in the second century BF (Before Founding) when they forged the Great Sword "Moonsinger" from a fallen star (meteor). Wielding this blade and supposedly blessed by the Gods, House Durrox slowly built a power base among the City's Crafting Guilds until they had enough muscle and power to seize the Archonate and proclaim themselves Doge Eternal. For the next Century each successive Durrox to hold the post was more power crazed and war hungry than the last until finally Praxis set off and conquered all his foes reforming the lands under him into the Empire of Roseheim (Konnigreich Roseheim). For his thirty three year rule, constant political assassinations, kidnappings and wars brought the Empire to its knees upon his death. His eldest nephew Calixtus succeeded him. Little improvement was made as Calixtus had a "thing" for little boys and girls and routinely "deflowered" them with little caution. Soon his craving grew too intense for the Aristocracy to bear as he demanded the eldest son of a Noblemen be "deflowered" by him. The boy, only of the age of thirteen rammed a blade through Calixtus before he could commit the deed in the privacy of his chambers. Calixtus was quickly succeeded by his grandson Miraxes, who was remarkably better and well liked. However just four years into his reign he fell and suffered an injury that left him lame. Upon his death years later he earned the name Miraxes the Lame, though if he had not been of House Durrox he likely would have achieved the nickname "The Great" for the blissful rule and prosperity the Empire had beneath him. The nobility not desiring another tyrant or even the chance for such moved to secure a new House to rule. Thus the Imperial Torch passed to House Ebenhardt.
Only three rulers come from House Durrox:
Praxis the First (The Dragon)
Calixtus the First (The Mad)
Miraxes the First (The Lame)
House Ebenhardt succeed House Durrox as the Imperial Family of the Konnigreich Roseheim or the First Empire. House Ebenhardt contains few notable historical rulers though they numbered only seven before House Ebenhardt's line ended due to a slew of assassinations. One thing of significant note is that this era is commonly known as the Golden Age of Classical Literature as it is under the patronage of House Ebenhardt that many great historians, satirists, playwrights and many others in the arts gained great prominence and refined their skills. The Capital of Avenheim was also heavily renovated during this time becoming a City of White Marble and two more tiers of walls were added to the already formidable one tier.

The War of Unification is when Kaiser Praxis I of House Durrox united the City States into the First Empire of Roseheim. The war itself was rather simple and straight forward as Praxis convinced eighteen cities to join him, and the city of Rosenwald in a war to end the infighting. Uniting the Northern League, Praxis then went to war against the Eastern League of Cities in 72 BCE. Following the war which was extremely one sided all, forty cities of the Western League willingly joined Praxis' Empire. However in 70 BCE, the Southern League, containing eighty cities and their colonies declared war upon the Empire of Roseheim in an attempt to restore the status quo which they dominated.
