December 1, 1955 - December 20, 1955

Rosa Parks was arrested on Dec 1, 1955
The Montgomery Bus Boycott ended on Dec 20, 1955

Integration Of Central High School Little Rock Arkanasas

September 4, 1957 - September 6, 1957

9 African american students were escorted into little rock high school by the military and then integrated the school soon after.

Sit In (Greensboro NC)

February 1, 1960

4 colored men participated in a nonviolent protest in a all white restaurant.

Freedom Riders

April 22, 1961

One of the buses was set om fire but the riders were saved by a state trooper that was also riding the bus.

Childrens March

May 2, 1963 - May 3, 1963

This was a march/protest to stop segregation in the south.

Civil Rights Act

July 2, 1964

This law stopped all segregation but still some states continued to do so anyways.

Voting Rights Act

July 2, 1964

This law allowed blacks to vote and help change the leaders so civil rights movement would go faster.

Jimmie Lee Jackson Murdered

February 26, 1965

Jacksons death sparked the Selma to Mongomery marches.

March From Selma To Montgomery

March 7, 1965

These marches were also protests to show people against blacks that they wouldnt give up. Also these marches commerated those killed.

Creation Of SNCC

April, 1966

This stopped a lot of the violence from racism.
