Timeline of Israel's Perspectives

Israel has created and encountered a lot of controversies (which is still going on right now) as it was created in a previously established land, Palestine. This led to many conflicts between Israel and the Arab nations although relations have improved yet marginally. There have been numerous counts of violence between Israel and Palestine and many issues between them are unresolved currently.

Zionists bought land in Palestine for Jews as they thought Jews weren't safe in Europe

Balfour Declaration

1917

Britain issued the Balfour Declaration as they want to help the Jews by establishing a home in Plaestine

Zionists moved to Palestine and Jewish population increased 30%

World War II

1939 - 1945

World War II included the holocaust where Jews were exterminated and sent to labor camps. Due to the high casualties, this sparked the move to Palestine.

Israel created

1948

Israel formally recognized as a country though not to most Arab countries and was soon invaded by Arab countries. Israel fought off the attacks and seized the West Bank and Gaza strip

Six Day War

1967

Conflict between Israel and several Arab countries such as Egypt and Syria. Israel ended up winning it.

October War

1973

Egypt and Syria attacked Israel on Yom Kippur but Israel won in the end

Camp David Accords

1978

Egypt became the first Arab country to recognize Israel as a nation

1982

Israel invaded Lebanon to root out the PLO involved in the civil war

1987

The first infatida in Israel

1990

Israel formally accepted PLO as the representative of Palestine and Palestine recognized Israel

Rabin assassinated

1994

Israeli prime minister, Rabin, was assassinated by an Israeli extremist and complicated truce negotiations.

Jordan Israel Peace treaty allowed Jordan to recognize Israel
