October 29, 1969

The internet was born at 10:30 P.M. The message was sent from UCLA to Stanford.

Slowly Growing

1970

The number of computers went from 4-13.

Still a gradual growth.

1971

23 computers now.

The Boom

1977 - 1984

In 1977 there were computers in the hundreds and in 1984 there were computers in the thousands.

Extravagant Growth

1987 - 1989

Computers went from 10,000 to 100,000 and were making their way into peoples homes.

Millions already

1992

There were millions of computers and users by now.

There's no stopping

1996

Over 10 million now

Great expansion.

2001

100 million!! Wow.

Fantastic.

2013

1.7 billion users have access to the internet. (Present)
