1962

Alice Auma Becomes Religious Figure

1985

Alice Auma claims to have been taken over by the holy spirit, and leads the HSM.

President Museveni takes Control

1986

President Museveni overthrows the Acholi General Tito Okello’s

HSM defeated near Ugandan capital, Auma arrested

1987

Holy Spirit Forces (HSMF) fight
to the south near Kampala. HSM
defeated by Ugandan military. Auma arrested try fleeing to Kenya.

Kony establishes LRA

1988

HSM breaks up, and Joseph Kony makes the LRA

Uganda & US attempt to stop LRA

2002

They work together to try to stop the LRA but it fails.

Juba Peace Talks

2006

Meetings to try to reach peace helped by the Vice President of Southern Sudan.

Kony refuses Peace Treaty and conflict continues

2008

Kony doesn't sign the treaty and conflict is unsolved. Presently the LRA still runs.
