In 1842 people started free settling which allowed timber logging until 1868. In the same year free settling was allowed they stared settlement 50 miles up into the Moggill Creek area

Land alienation act
The area was known as Moggill Creek and then in 1910 it got divided into Upper Brookfield, Moggill, Pullenvale etc…
1930 - 1970
Farmers had to complete the hard work of clearing their land before they could grow crops or run dairy cattle. Fruit, vegetable and dairy farms were profitable, particularly from about the 1930s to the 1970s.
Smith Farm Fires
In 1944 there was a major fire that burnt from Gillis Road to Upper Brookfield school in 2 hours.
