Vasco da Gama reaches India from Europe, which establishes a route by sea.

British East India Company is chartered

1600

Queen Elizabeth I grants a charter to 25 adventurers

This gives them a monolopy on trade between England and the East Indies

British Take Over India

1757

The French had lost power, and the British now dominated trade by making sure all Indian exports had to transport on British ships. They spread technologies through India and worked on consolidating their sovereignty.
