Robert Brown establishes the first general store near the Hovell Tree

Brown’s Hume Inn opens which was Albury’s first ever hotel.

The flour Mill opened.

Albury’s court of Petty Sessions was established.

German migrants Schubach, Frauenfelder and Rau established the first vineyards.

The very first hospital opened in Thurgoona Street.

Gaol opened in Thurgoona Street.

A new Albury post office opened which is the current post office

Gas plant opened in Kiewa Street

Waterworks established and town water was supplied.

Town hall was built.

Albury district hospital was opened in Wodonga Place.

Hume Dam construction began

Albury High School was established.

The first housing commission homes completed in North Albury.

Upper Murray Regional Library established.
august 1950 - september 1950
Wodonga township was established.

The first paddle steamer was introduced to Albury.

Lavington and Thurgoona became additions on from Albury.

Natural gas supply started.

Albury-Wodonga Private Hospital opened.

Court House in Olive Street completed

Charles Sturt University established.

New Albury Base Hospital and new Police Station opened.

Hume Freeway opened as well as the Library-Museum opened
