How do I export to PowerPoint?

Click the Share button above your timeline, then click the PowerPoint option:

Select your presentation's slide size, then click Download Now. The menu holds two sizes, Standard (4:3) and Widescreen (16:9). It opens on Standard the first time, and on whichever size you picked last after that:

How do I determine my presentation's slide size?

Your presentation's slide size tells Preceden how wide a slide to generate.

In PowerPoint, click the Design tab, then click the Slide Size button:

How do I move the slide into my own presentation?

Right-click the slide thumbnail and click Copy:

Then, in your presentation, right-click the sidebar and click Paste:

What if my timeline is too tall for a single slide?

Preceden only exports to a single slide, so a very tall timeline may not fit on it in full.

If yours doesn't fit, there are two approaches you can try:

Approach #1: Reduce the height of your timeline

• If your timeline includes images, hide them under Appearance > Content Visibility by unchecking Images under Display on Timeline.
• Compress the layers automatically under Appearance > Layers by checking Automatically compress layers.
• Reduce the Font Size under Appearance > Font.
• Hide dates and durations under Appearance > Content Visibility by unchecking Dates and Durations under Display on Timeline.
• Export one layer at a time. Type the layer's name into the Search box above your timeline, download the slide, then repeat for the next layer. The search also keeps any event in another layer whose name or notes contain the same word, so this works best when your layer names are distinctive. • Consider splitting your timeline into several smaller ones.

Approach #2: Split the timeline image onto multiple slides in PowerPoint

Alternatively, PowerPoint's built-in image cropping can split the timeline across two or more slides.

For example, say you export your timeline and it overflows off the bottom of the slide:

Here's how to split it across two slides instead:

First, duplicate the slide:

On the first slide, right-click the image and click Crop:

Then scroll to the bottom of the image and drag the crop container's bottom edge up so it cuts off the bottom two layers:

With the image cropped, the slide shows just the first two layers:

Repeat the process on the second slide, this time leaving just the bottom two layers.

Your timeline is now split across two slides:
