Preceden has an age calculator that tells you exactly how old you are in years, months, days, and even hours, minutes, and seconds. It also tells you which day of the week you were born on.

If you would rather not type a date, the same page lists every year from 1900 onward. Pick a birth year to see how old someone born on a given date that year would be today.

Showing an age on a timeline

To put a lifespan on a Preceden timeline, give the event a start date and an end date. The end date can be a date or a duration measured from the start, such as 80 years, and Preceden works out the date for you. For someone still living, use today's date as the end date.

Leave the end date blank and the event marks a single moment on the timeline instead of spanning a range, which is what you want for a birth, a graduation, or any other one-day event.
