Change Account Password

Here's how to change your account's password:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click the Account link at the top of the page, then click Settings.
3. Click the Change Your Password link.
4. Enter your password in the Current Password field.
5. Enter a new password in the New Password field. It must be at least 6 characters long.
6. Type the new password again in the Re-enter New Password field and click Update.

Forgot Your Current Password?

You need your current password to change it from the account settings page. If you don't remember it, reset it from the login page instead:

1. Log out of Preceden if you are still signed in. The reset page only opens when you are logged out.
2. On the login page, click the Forgot password? link below the form.
3. Enter your account's email address and click Send Reset Email.
4. Open the email from Preceden and click Reset Your Password. The link works once and expires after two hours, so request a new email if it has expired.
5. Enter your new password twice and click Change Password, then log in with it.

If you signed up by clicking one of the sign-in buttons for another service, such as Google or GitHub, you will not see the Change Your Password link. Preceden does not store a password for those accounts, so you sign in through that provider instead. If you request a reset email, it tells you which service to use.
