Appearance Settings - Axis
The axis is the part of the timeline that displays the dates.
To reach these settings, click the Appearance button above your timeline and open the Axis section.
Background Color
Sets the background color of the axis. New timelines don't set one: until you pick a color, an axis at the top or bottom of the timeline is white, and an axis above a layer takes that layer's background color.
Position
Three checkboxes control where the axis appears: Top of the timeline (the default), Top of each additional layer, and Bottom of the timeline. You can check more than one.
Top of each additional layer adds an axis above every layer after the first. If only one layer is showing and that's the only box checked, the axis appears at the bottom of the timeline instead, so your dates stay visible.
Options
Three more checkboxes control the lines on your timeline:
- Display axis gridlines shows the vertical lines that run from the top of the timeline to the bottom.
- Display timeline border shows the border around the timeline. Uncheck it along with gridlines and your timeline has no lines on it at all.
- Display a line on today's date draws a red vertical line, topped with a red dot, at today's date. It's useful on project planning timelines.
Gridlines and the timeline border are both on in a new timeline. The line on today's date is off.
